Atlanta, GA – Award winning musician and actor Chris “Ludacris” Bridges, actress Keisha Knight Pulliam, and his foundation, remembers the importance of giving back and extending a helping hand to those that are less fortunate. In what has become a tradition, this weekend The Ludacris Foundation will be distributing Thanksgiving turkeys, greens, and sweet potatoes — to residents of metro Atlanta. On Sunday, November 20, 2011, The Ludacris Foundation along with help provided from its sponsor Sam’s Club will distribute the holiday food boxes to over 500 underserved families.

The Thanksgiving turkey giveaway is a part of the Foundation's LudaCares Initiative.  The LudaCares Initiative is dedicated to supporting kids and families in need during the holiday season.  “This is the foundation’s tenth year giving away turkeys and distributing food boxes for Thanksgiving. This year more people are in need than any other year that we have distributed food because of the failing economy and the tough job market” said Ludacris.

This event is by invitation and not open to the public.  Recipient families have been pre-selected by partnering community-based organizations. The distribution will take place this Sunday from 11:00 am to 5:00 pm at the Harland Boys & Girls Club located on 434 Peeples Street Atlanta, GA 30310.

“Right now people are having a hard time keeping the lights on and putting food on the table. We want to do something to help families have a wonderful Thanksgiving Day – It’s a great feeling to sit with your love ones and share the many blessings that God has bestowed upon us. If we add to their blessings in a small way then we have accomplished our goal” stated Roberta Shields, President of The Ludacris Foundation.
