Chris “Ludacris” Bridges, The Ludacris Foundation and Pepsi Make Generous Donation to Chicago Area Non-Profit Groups
Chicago, IL– September 13, 2006–Multi-platinum selling artist and actor, Chris “Ludacris” Bridges, took time from his busy promotion schedule of his upcoming album “Release Therapy, ” in stores September 26th, to present Chicago non-profit groups with a total donation of $30,000 on behalf of The Ludacris Foundation and Pepsi.
“It makes me proud to have the ability to donate these funds to help youth in urban communities. This partnership with Pepsi enables us to provide more funds to communities in need.”
Chris "Ludacris" Bridges, Keith Boyd, Director of Urban Market Development of Pepsi Co., and Jennifer Robinson, Regional Director of The Ludacris Foundation were on hand to personally present the organizations with their donations. Monica Haslip and Zakeya N. Cartman of Little Black Pearl Workshop, Marti L. Foster of West Humboldt Park Center for Performing Arts, Ashara Parks, Dana Adams and Melvin Nash of Christ Universal Temple - Project Achieve, and Margaret Caples of the Community Film Workshop - Community King College represented the organizations who have been the beneficiaries behind the partnership that has impacted so many youth and communities.
The Ludacris Foundation and Pepsi have donated $170,000 to Chicago metropolitan area non-profit organizations over the last three years. The four organizations chosen this year have received $90,000 during this period. Respectively, Little Black Pearl Workshop - $20,000; West Humboldt Park Center for Performing Arts - $30,000; Christ Universal Temple Project Achieve - $25,000; and Community Film Workshop - $15,000
