The Ludacris Foundation Announces 3rd Annual Benefit Dinner – “An Evening of Southern Hospitality”
The Gala will recognize the achievements of three individuals with a rich history of giving back and who demonstrate a strong commitment to community service
Atlanta, GA --- The Ludacris Foundation announces its 3rd Annual Benefit Dinner, titled “An Evening of Southern Hospitality” to take place Wednesday, May 10, 2006, 8:00 PM at The Freight Room, Georgia Freight Depot in Atlanta, GA. The gala will be filled with special performances and festive activities while supporting the foundation’s efforts to raise funds for community groups and special programs.
The foundation will recognize three outstanding individuals for their tireless work and strong commitment to community service. Honorees are selected in acknowledgment of the excellence and integrity embodied in their work, as well as their willingness to support and participate in programs benefiting their community. This year’s honorees include Robert Johnson, Founder of BET and owner of the Charlotte Bobcats; Ryan Cameron, Atlanta radio personality; and a surprise presentation.
The theme of Southern Hospitality will take shape in two distinct events: A gala dinner infused with Southern Elegance and a casino night after-party that oozes Southern Sensuality.
The event will commence at 6:00 PM with red carpet arrivals beginning at 6:15 PM, a VIP Press Reception from 6:30 PM - 8:00 PM. The 3rd Annual Benefit Dinner begins at 8 PM and the Casino Night will start immediately after the dinner in a special VIP area at 10 PM.
Featuring a silent auction with of one-of-a-kind music and film memorabilia as well as other fantastic items, a special live performance by Def Jam recording artist Shareefa and music by DJ Biz Markie, the invitation only dinner will be hosted by Grammy winning & multi-platinum hip-hop artist Chris “Ludacris” Bridges and comedian Katt Williams.
Invited guests include: Russell Simmons, LA Reid, Debra Lee, Oprah, Jay Z, Nelly, Kevin Lyles, Usher, Mary J. Blige, Lyor Cohen, Lil John, Ciara, Bow Wow, Dallas Austin, Denzel Washington, Gabrielle Union, Jermaine Dupri, Evander Holyfield, Tyler Perry, Paul Haggis, Andre 3000, Terrance Howard, Common, Butch Lewis, Wesley Snipes, Bobby Brown, Free, Larenz Tate, Ying Yang Twins, Mark Wahlberg, David Banner, Lyfe Jennings and a host of other celebrities and VIPs.
All proceeds from “An Evening of Southern Hospitality” will benefit The Ludacris Foundation: Luda Cares Program, The Standup Initiative and other local and national programs.
