In June 2007, The Ludacris Foundation partnered with the CDC (Center for Disease Control) and leading black institutions to help launch an AIDS Awareness campaign as a part of a national Mass Black Response to the AIDS epidemic.

We are supporting efforts to end the AIDS epidemic in Black America by 2012 by:

  • Cutting HIV rates in Black America by 50%
  • Increasing the number of Black Americans who know their HIV status by 50%
  • Increasing the number of Black Americans in appropriate early care/treatment by 50%
  • Reducing HIV/AIDS stigma In Black America by 50%

  • Nearly 50% of 1.3 million Americans living with HIV/AIDS are African American?
  • More than 54% of new HIV/AIDS cases in the US are African American?
  • AIDS is the leading cause of death for African American women, ages 24-34?
  • Approximately 40,000 people become infect with HIV each year?
  • 25% of HIV positive people in the US do not know they are infected?
