
ERIC J. TROY
Eric J. Troy is an educational consultant specializing in the development of leadership skills for African American males. He was the director of The Leadership Center for African American Males for the Ohio Board of Regents, where he was responsible for the development of a strategic plan for a Leadership Center. Mr. Troy has also served as the program director for the Todd Anthony Bell National Resource Center on the African American Male and Manager of Public Relations & Special Projects for the Office of Minority Affairs at The Ohio State University. Mr. Troy is also the President and CEO of Eternal Sports, a sports marketing agency based in Columbus, Ohio that assist athletes in preparing for life after sports.
Mr. Troy is adjunct faculty at Columbus State Community College in the area of Sports Marketing. He has also held the position of Urban Advertising Manager for Nationwide Insurance, where he was responsible for managing an estimated $7.0 million budget. He has over a decade of experience throughout North America and South Africa in the areas of advertising, marketing, event planning, media relations, education and sports development.
In June of 1996, Eric was selected to represent The Ohio State University along with 35 university administrators including the president of the college on a 17-day tour of South Africa (SA). Eric established relationships with universities and SA based corporations such Nike SA, IBM SA, and Coca-Cola SA regarding the development of a sport management exchange program. Due to his efforts, Eric was recruited by Telkom SA, Ltd. and returned to South Africa to live and develop sport sponsorship strategies, which included the Cape Town Olympic bid for the 2004 Summer Olympics.
Mr. Troy is a graduate of Morehouse College, Atlanta, Georgia with a B.A. in Marketing. He also holds a M.A. in Sport Management from The Ohio State University, Columbus, Ohio.
